The first two rows of pictures below were part of the Joseph M. Trowbridge set of photos. There are no names or dates on the back of the photos on this page. As with the others they appear to have been taken about the turn of the century.

It appears to me that the man pulling the two ladies on the hay rake is the same man as in the apparent wedding photos on the previous page.

Please contact meat my mailing address on my home page if you can identify anyone in these two photos.

I first thought the marks on this photo to be scratches. They turned out to be pencil marks, which I could clearly see when I enhanced the photo. There is no information on the back of this photo. It was also a part of the Joseph M. Trowbridge collection. The studio props and style of the photo indicate that it was taken late in the nineteenth or early twentieth centuries.

This picture is of a sketch or painting of Henry Snyder, brother of Sarah Ann (Snyder) Trowbridge. This photo was part of the Joseph M. Trowbridge collection.

This is the inscription on the back of the photo. Who ever wrote this was of Ross and Dorothy's generation ("grandmother Sara Ann Snyder"). Henry Snyder was also the uncle of my great grandmother Luvenia Trowbridge Westfall.

Elizabeth (Trowbridge) Nicholson (1827-1913); daughter of Jonathan Trowbridge and Keziah Moore of Monongalia County, West Virginia. Elizabeth's grandmother was Mary (Green) Moore. Mary Green was captured when Seneca warriors attacked the Green farm, killed her husband and baby boy. After Mary Green escaped from the Indians she married a Mr. Moore. The Green farm, which was near Kingwood, was latter the home of Samuel Ruble Trowbridge. Elizabeth's father, Jonathan (John) Trowbridge was the brother of David Trowbridge and great uncle of James McGrew Trowbridge.

The inscription on this photo says, "Reunion - Hoffman - Trowbridge". Thurman Trowbridge married Nettie Hoffman on 03 Sept. 1907, probably in Barberton, Summit County, Ohio (Source: David Parsons Brackett, Trowbridge Family Group Sheets, 138 Simpson Rd., Sequim, Washington, 98382, , February 22, 1989). This photo appears to have been taken in the 1930-40's. I have lost the source of this photo, which was sent to me. If you can identify who this picture belongs to, or anyone in it, please contact me at the mailing address on our home page.
