WESTFALL CEMETERY PHOTOS

Lorentz and Buckhannon, Upshur County, West Virginia

In Nov. 2007, Stephen "Joe" Williams of Old Lyme, Connecticut sent me photos he took at this cemetery. This cemetery is off U.S. 33/48 near Lorentz. I was unable to locate the cemetery; however, A listing on Find A Grave states, "This Family Cemetery is Located on the Ada Allman Farm West of Buckhannon On A Small Knoll that overlooks The New Fourlane or Route 33 (now U.S. 48?) It Sits on the Right in a Grove of Pine trees Near the White Farmhouse .There are Four Marked Graves Possibly more. George Allman and His two wives are buried here with a Daughter."

located off U.S. 33 at Lorentz, Upshur County, West Virginia. This stone was erected long after his death. William Allman was the father of Elizabeth Allman, the first wife of John H. Westfall and mother of Peter Westfall, my grandmother Osa Corbett's grandmother. Peter is buried in Harrison Grove near Weston, WV

Col. Watson Westfall, (father of Jasper N., Granville D., George W., Dorcas E., Oliver, Rebecca, Rachel and Ruhama Westfall) b. 5 Mar 1818. d. Feb. 13, 1892), son of George Westfall (b. 12 Apr 1796, d. 11 Oct 1873) and Lydia Cutright (1798-1840); this family were the descendants of Zachariah Westfall and Hannah Wolfe; Zachariah was the brother of our ancestor Jacob Westfall, a Rev. War soldier and early settler in Randolph County (West) Virginia.
