McGee, Thomas witnessed a deed, with William Reed, from Samuel Bigham to John Whiteside on Steel Creek, bk 10, pg 411. 1778. Thomas died Dec. 30, 1777 at age 47 in Mecklenberg Co.  The date 1778 is probably the date the deed was recorded, not the date Thomas McGee witnessed it.

James Whiteside and Stephen McCorkle, Administrators, who being sworn entered into bond with Joseph Swann & John Whiteside in the sum of forty thousand Pounds. The Widow by a written declaration relinquished her right of Administration."
