1961 One of those curious coincidences, this is Sue before I met her by the house where her grandmother Whitsett lived. This house was next door to the house my mother lived when I came home on leave from basic training.

1961 My mother's house next door to Sue's grandmother's home, months before I meet Sue. I was home on leave from basic at Lackland AFB before my assignment to tech school at Goodfellow AFB

1962 - Art and I were diving for fishing lures caught up in under water weeds and tree branches in Sugar Loaf Lake south of Fort Smith. We filled the tackle box in the boat with our rescued treasures.


1962 - Lake Nasworthy, San Angelo, Texas. We fondly called it by our favorite nickname, "Lake Nasty Waters". Never caught a fish in it and full of Cotton Mouth snakes, the main reason for our low opinion of it.

1962 - graduate photo from Security Service tech school, San Angelo, Texas and my second stripe. Soon after I met Sue and we were engaged. She couldn't resist the uniform


Graduation day, Radio Intercept Analysts, Goodfellow, AFB, May 1962. Arranged left to right by our class ranking. I'm very proud that I was second in my class. The airman on my left is Bob Burns who was given a medical discharge for Diabetes. He was a good friend.


1962 - 6986th RGM, Wakkanai Air Station, Japan, My home for fifteen months. Wakkanai is located in northern most Japan on the Japanese island of Hokkaido.

1963 - While waiting for our flight home a friend from Wakkanai, Jerry Essington and I took a bus tour of Tokyo. That's us back row, 2nd and 3rd from the left. There were people on the tour from all over the world. We were the only Americans. Our tour guide is on the extreme right.
