The town of Whitsett is named for him. He married Rachel Estep in 1826 in Mt. Pleasant, Westmoreland County. She was born on April 29, 1808 and died in Perryopolis on April 20, 1891.

Lowhill Church Cemetery, Lehigh County

Translaated tombstone inscription Jacob Bachman, Revolutionary War veteran, Lowhill Cemetery, Lehigh Co, Penn.

REST THE BONES OF THE DECEASED ... BROTHER NAMED JACOB BACHMAN BORN THE 30TH OF NOVEMBER 1731 AND IS STOPPED THE 28TH OF MARCH 1796 AND IS 64 YEARS 4 MONTHS AND 4 WEEKS OLD

The plaque says Jacob Bachman Sr. 1704-1786; however, the inscription indicates a birthdate of 1740, more in line with being a Revolutionary War veteran. The Bachman family of Lowhill Township, Lehigh County were relatives and ancestors of the Baughman and Wall families of Medina County, Ohio.

Unity Cemetery, Latrobe, Westmoreland Co.

Peter Tittle, Jr. was the son of Peter Tittle of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He married Sarah Whiteside/Whitsett, daughter of Ralph Whitsett and Sarah Wilson of Lancaster (now Lebanon) County, Pennsylvania. Ralph Whitsett, with brothers William, James, John, and a sister Elizabeth came to Lancaster County from County Antrim in northern Ireland in the 1730's. They were the children of William of County Antrim. This family used the surnames Whiteside, Whitsett, Whitsitt (and other spellings) interchangeably until the early 19th century, some settling on Whiteside and others on a version of Whitsett. Some researchers believe that Ralph's son Samuel of Kentucky married Margaret Tuttle. I believe she was probably Margaret Tittle.
